How to make Lemon Ginger and Honey tea

For various reasons, more and more people are choosing to start the day with a caffeine free hot drink, or trying to cut down on the amount of coffee they drink during the day.

A simple honey drink with lemon and ginger can make a great alternative to coffee or tea and can provide some amazing health benefits too!

Ginger can loosen and help relieve the mucus from your respiratory system, while lemons are high in vitamin C and contain various beneficial plant compounds. Combined with sweet honey we think this makes a just as effective morning 'wake up' as tea or coffee and the perfect way to start your day!

To make Lemon & Ginger Honey drink, you will need:

Method:

Simply stir 2 teaspoons into a mug of hot water!

Please note: It's important not to use boiling water as this can destroy the vitamins and natural nutrients in our honey.

The easiest method is to catch the kettle and turn it off before it comes to the boil at the first signs of steam coming out of the spout. That will make the water around 75 – 85c which will be perfect. It also means you won't have to wait so long to drink it!

If you inadvertently let the kettle boil, just pour some out into your mug and let it cool for a few minutes before stirring the honey in. It will cool much quicker in a cold mug than leaving it in the hot kettle.

 Enjoy!

  • I love your lemon a ginger honey also I recently purchased elderflower honey . I use both either in mu porridge or on vegetables to make honey roasted. Not at the same time obviously one or the other. This gives my vitamin intake a boost. I haven’t tried in warm water yet. I will give it a go though.

  • I’m caffeine free after 2pm each day. Around 6pm each nght I have a Just Bee Honey in hot water. Usually its Lemon & Ginger, but this year I’ve been stocking up on the summer flavours. My favourite so far has been the coconut, closely followed by the pineapple. Looking forward to the last of the Summer releases. I’ve now gotten most of my family into Just Bee Honey.

  • Have been making honey lemon ginger tea for over 2 years. Very pleased with the tip about boiling water as that’s what I have been doing. Didn’t realise not to use boiling water

  • Hi Joe, I’m a newbie to your honey but can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. Only had the Lemon & Ginger so far but definitely will be trying all the others. It’s now part of my daily in take – keep up the good work!
