How to make lemon & ginger honey tea
For various reasons, more and more people are choosing to start the day with a caffeine free hot drink, or trying to cut down on the amount of coffee they drink during the day.
A simple honey drink with lemon and ginger can make a great alternative to coffee or tea and can provide some amazing health benefits too!
Ginger can loosen and help relieve the mucus from your respiratory system, while lemons are high in vitamin C and contain various beneficial plant compounds. Combined with sweet honey we think this makes a just as effective morning 'wake up' as tea or coffee and the perfect way to start your day!
To make Lemon & Ginger Honey drink, you will need:
- 2 teaspoons of Just Bee Vitamin Honey with Lemon and Ginger
- A mug of hot (not boiling!) water
Method:
Simply stir 2 teaspoons into a mug of hot water!
Please note: It's important not to use boiling water as this can destroy the vitamins and natural nutrients in our honey.
The easiest method is to catch the kettle and turn it off before it comes to the boil at the first signs of steam coming out of the spout. That will make the water around 75 – 85c which will be perfect. It also means you won't have to wait so long to drink it!
If you inadvertently let the kettle boil, just pour some out into your mug and let it cool for a few minutes before stirring the honey in. It will cool much quicker in a cold mug than leaving it in the hot kettle.
Enjoy!
I was a bit sceptical about Turmeric in honey, but it is actually delicious. I use mine to flavour natural yoghurt.
I love my honey in the morning very refreshing
Just love it with yogurt
First jar and loving it will be buying more and trying the recipes.
I use the lemon and ginger in hot water, on yoghurt, in my home made granola recipe, on porridge and of course straight from the side of the jar when it ‘inevitably drips’ . I must admit I have tried cheaper honey, but I return to just bee because it is special.
