Honey Baked Salmon

Elegant, easy and full of flavour, this Honey Baked Salmon is a delicious way to get more goodness onto your plate. The natural sweetness of Just Bee Honey is combined with zesty lemon and warming spices to create a golden glaze that perfectly complements the richness of the salmon.
You can use any of our honeys in this recipe, but we especially recommend Turmeric+ Honey. With its gentle earthy flavour and golden colour, it pairs beautifully with fish bringing a subtle warmth and a nourishing touch to this simple dish.
Perfect for a midweek meal or a dinner with friends, this is one of those recipes that feels a little special without any fuss.
Ingredients (serves 2)
- 2 salmon fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Just Bee Honey (we recommend Turmeric+ Honey for added warmth)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 garlic clove, finely grated or crushed
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- A pinch of smoked paprika (optional)
To serve (optional):
- Steamed greens or asparagus
- New potatoes or wild rice
- Lemon wedges and fresh parsley
Method
- Preheat the Oven:
Heat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper for easy clean-up.
- Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix together the honey, lemon juice, mustard, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper and paprika (if using). Stir until well combined.
- Glaze the Salmon:
Place the salmon fillets on the prepared tray, skin-side down. Spoon the glaze generously over each fillet, making sure they’re well coated.
- Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon, until cooked through and flaking gently at the edges. For a caramelised top, you can pop it under the grill for an extra 1–2 minutes at the end.
- Serve:
Serve warm with your choice of sides—steamed vegetables, fresh greens or herby potatoes all work beautifully. Don’t forget an extra drizzle of Just Bee Honey before serving, if you fancy.
This Honey Baked Salmon is light yet satisfying, with a lovely balance of sweet, savoury and citrus. The subtle spice of Turmeric+ Honey gives it a golden finish and a comforting depth that makes this dish feel both wholesome and indulgent.
That sounds delicious will give it a try, minus the garlic, for a New year’s treat.
